Projects & operations
The Group’s main activities, all located in the DRC, revolve around the successful delivery of the KOV Project and the ramp-up of current mining operations and copper/cobalt concentrate production. Upon completion of the KOV Project, the Group will become a major producer of copper cathode and high purity cobalt products.
Our main activities involve:
- Redevelopment and mining of 3 brownfield open-pit mines – Kananga, Tilwezembe and KOV
- Refurbishment of existing processing capacity and ancillary infrastructure – Kolwezi concentrator
- Construction of a new world-class processing facility
Through the development of these assets, the group aims to become a leading vertically integrated producer of LME Grade A copper and marketable high purity cobalt products.
Central to these business activities is the redevelopment and mining of the KOV open pit mine situated near the town of Kolwezi in the copperbelt of the Katanga province in the southeastern part of the DRC. In addition to the redevelopment of KOV, the Group is also operating the Tilwezembe and Kananga open pit mines which are situated in the same area and conducting further exploration work to confirm additional future resources available for extraction at these mines.
The group will also undertake, through existing capacity and a new state-of-the-art refinery under construction, the associated processing, refining and sale of copper and cobalt mined at KOV, Tilwezembe and Kananga.
