The Group’s operations commenced in late 2006 with the first concentrate produced by the Kolwezi Concentrator from ore sourced from the Kananga and Tilwezembe mines.
In addition to the KOV mine, the Group also has mining rights at the cobalt-rich Tilwezembe and Kananga mines. These two mines currently account for 7% of the Group’s total resources; however, exploration is underway along as yet undocumented long strike lengths at each mine.
Ore from Tilwezembe and Kananga is being treated in the Group’s current processing facility, the Kolwezi Concentrator, and sold in the form of copper/cobalt concentrate.
Nikanor’s assets are located in the heart of the African copperbelt in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
