the DCP Foundation

We recognise that good management of community relationships is vital to the Group’s success.

This project brings a great opportunity to uplift the standard of living of a very poor local community. In order to do this in a structured manner, we have set up the DCP Foundation along the lines of similar successful foundations in other mining communities.


DCP Foundation

The DCP Foundation has been established as the main vehicle for implementing the Group’s community development programme. While sensitive to the very immediate basic needs of the communities surrounding the mine, the concept underpinning the approach of the DCP Foundation is that sustained uplift requires a structured and long-term view. Furthermore, it is essential that planning takes place now to put the skills and structures in place to ensure that the local economy is prepared for the eventual closure of the mine.

With this in mind, the four key areas that the DCP Foundation is focusing on are health, education, agriculture and business development.
